Vacation, Family, and Relaxation | Better Living Essentials

Today's topic is close to my heart: grandparents, family, vacation, relaxation, and growing up.  I loved spending time with family before kids, but now with kids I look forward to these times even more.

Every year we take vacation! Some would ask, why every year? Yes, it has been shown that taking a yearly vacation can make you live longer, have a healthier and happy life.  What does vacation do for your health?  When you get away from the everyday things of life and take a break, relax and enjoy each other in a different setting it does help set a relaxing setting to ones family, life and over all health and well being.

While on vacation I am able to take my work with me.  There are so many opportunities to share when I am traveling.  From wearing the oils, to something as simples as using Thieves Hand Purifier in the bathrooms, airports, and airplanes.

Now that we have two children; it is more important then ever that they know their grandparents.  I was closer to one grandmother than my other growing up.  I knew my grandfathers growing up but lost one at a very young age and have not seen the other one in over 15 years.  I want my kids to know their grandparents as best as they can; technology has helped with this to a point as we have phones and can Skype.  But nothing takes the place of seeing them and having that personal touch and interaction with them.

While traveling we made sure to use the oils and NingXia Red on a daily bases.  It helps with overall staying healthy and getting the most out of vacation!  Make sure you also wear sunscreen if you are going to be out in the sun for long periods of time.  And if you by chance do get sun burned make sure to apply Lavender Essential Oil. We also brought dehydrated Wolfberries for a snack food; these have already become a favored snack for both of our kids.

Kids grow up so fast and before you know it they are walking and talking, then headed off to school. And by the way take pictures, pictures can say 1,000 words.

I decided on vacation to start a new work out for the summer; my goal is to be just running by summers end, but I am starting out slow as to not burn out.  I run, then walk, then run, then walk and will build up to just running by the end of the summer. I am also applying Ortho Ease Massage to any areas that get stiff or sore from working out.

When on vacation watch what you are eating, and I don't mean that to be a reminder for your diet.  Many people will not eat as healthy on vacation and this can leave them feeling tired and unwell.  Good healthy food even while on vacation is a key to a good vacation.  So remember take a vacation and make healthier choices for your whole family.
